About Metro Caring

At Metro Caring, we're meeting people's immediate food needs while addressing the root cause of hunger: poverty. We provide nutritious groceries to our neighbors, and also offer comprehensive anti-hunger resources so that families can stop hunger at its root.

Our Fresh Foods Market is at the heart of Metro Caring. Shoppers choose from an array of nutritious foods based on their dietary needs and preferences, and leave with a week's supply of groceries, including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, dairy, and lean protein.

How You Can Serve

Volunteer Opportunities are available Sunday-Thursday. Shift times are as follows:

   -Monday and Tuesday: 8:30am-12:00pm, 12:00pm-3:30pm, 5:30pm-8:00pm

   -Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30am-12:00pm, 12:00pm-3:30pm

   -Sunday: 1:00pm-3:00pm

Volunteers are expected to volunteer for the full shift (3-3.5hours)

Volunteers serve in a variety of rewarding ways. 500 weekly volunteers help us accomplish our mission through greeting participants, conducting one-on-one conversations to connect participants to resources, keeping our market and warehouse stocked and organized, and more.
